Bobbi Jo Haagenson’s career at Vivie is a testament to what’s possible when dedication meets opportunity. She started her journey with Vivie working as a dietary aide and has grown into her current role as a clinical operations consultant in Vivie’s population health division.

Sparking a passion—and building a career

Raised on a farm near Alexandria, Minnesota, Bobbi Jo’s interest in health care took root early. She was helping to care for her great uncle after he suffered a stroke when Vivie brought therapy care to their home. “At an early age, I was exposed to the services Vivie was providing,” she recalls, noting how those early experiences sparked a lifelong commitment to caring for others.

At 16, Bobbi Jo began working at Vivie as a dietary aide, which gave her a firsthand look at the world of senior care. Encouraged by her experience, she pursued CNA training, later advancing through roles as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), registered nurse (RN), home care manager, and director of care management. Vivie supported her every step of the way through scholarship programs that helped ease the financial pressures of continuing her education.Bobbi Jo_Still4

“It really helped relieve stress so I didn’t have to work as many hours while going to school,” she says. “I could focus on learning instead of just trying to keep up.”

In her current role, Bobbi Jo works closely with care teams to ensure clients and caregivers receive the resources and support they need to navigate complex health situations. Her commitment to whole-person care—meeting people where they are and addressing both medical and social needs—reflects Vivie’s mission to care for people well and continuously improve outcomes.

Leading with a servant heart

Throughout her career, Bobbi Jo has embodied Vivie’s value of servant heart—putting others first, whether it’s her clients or her team. Her leadership style is deeply rooted in empathy and experience. “I wouldn’t ask my team to do something I wouldn’t do myself,” she explains.

She is especially passionate about supporting caregivers, who often face burnout while caring for loved ones.

“We work with caregivers just as much as the client—we give support, so the caregiver is relieved of some of those tasks and burdens and get the time they need to focus on their own care."

For Bobbi Jo, this dedication is part of living out the servant heart value every day—seeing not just the clinical needs but also the emotional and practical challenges people face and stepping in to offer meaningful help. Whether guiding a client through care options or empowering a team member to grow in their role, she keeps service at the center of everything she does.

A culture of growth and opportunity

Looking back, Bobbi Jo says she’s proud to be part of an organization that never stands still.

“Vivie is always thinking about what’s next and what’s needed,” she says. “That’s what makes me proud to be here.”

For Bobbi Jo, Vivie is more than a workplace—it’s a place where people are encouraged to grow, contribute, and make a lasting impact. Her advice for anyone considering a role at Vivie? “Don’t be afraid to start. Wherever you begin, there’s opportunity to grow.”
