“Becky and I were inspired to make a gift of appreciated stock to the foundation not only because the they provide wonderful services to residents but also because it was so easy. I had some stock from a bonus program at my previous employer which had appreciated over the years and would have been taxed had I sold it. Instead, I passed it easily to the foundation. No tax and a tax deduction on my tax return. It was a win, win. On top of this, it helped the foundation. So a win, win, win.”
