The pedicab experience: More than just a ride

The pedicab has become an iconic part of life at The Plaza, offering residents a fun and meaningful way to explore the Anoka community. Michael shares how these rides have become a conversation starter on Main Street, drawing curiosity from passersby and sparking interest in Vivie’s vibrant community.

From leisurely rides to Jackson Street—filled with bars, patios, and favorite restaurants—to peaceful routes along the Rum and Mississippi rivers, the pedicab isn’t just a mode of transport. It’s a vehicle for adventure, storytelling, and genuine connection.

Building community, one ride at a time

Michael’s work with the pedicab goes beyond transportation—it brings people together. Residents who hop on the pedicab aren’t just going for a ride; they’re sharing memories, laughing with friends, and engaging with the greater Anoka community.

Through these rides:

  • Volunteers are inspired to get involved, drawn in by the pedicab’s sense of fun and purpose.
  • Residents share their personal stories, making each trip a journey through time and memory.
  • New friendships are formed, both within The Plaza community and throughout Anoka.

The pedicab has become a symbol of connection, proving that a simple ride can brighten someone’s day and create lasting relationships.
