A New Chapter for Community Life at Walker Place by Vivie

Sunlight streams through atrium windows. Neighbors play a game of pool. A grand piano stands ready for the next performance. Nearby, residents are exercising in a new wellness center or admiring artwork created by fellow residents.

These scenes are now part of everyday life at Walker Place by Vivie following the completion of a major renovation project that transformed the community's atrium and lower level.

The newly renovated spaces make it easier for residents to stay active, pursue their interests, and enjoy time together. The project also represents an investment in the future of Walker Place, helping ensure the community remains vibrant and welcoming for years to come.

A space for community life

At the heart of the renovation is a spacious new atrium area designed to bring people together for friendship, entertainment, and shared experiences.

The space is filled with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere for everything from casual conversations to special events. Residents can enjoy a game of pool or shuffleboard, spend time in the game corner, or relax with friends and family.

A kitchen and entertainment area further expand the possibilities for social gatherings, celebrations, and everyday moments.

The atrium is already serving as a hub for community life and can host a variety of future events, including live music performances, guest speakers, and resident activities.

Supporting wellness in new ways

The project also introduced a large new wellness center equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

Whether residents are maintaining strength, improving mobility, or simply staying active, the new wellness center offers another way for them to focus on overall health and well-being.

Nearby, the renovated activity room provides another place for creativity and engagement. The walls are decorated with artwork created by residents, adding a personal touch and highlighting the talents that make the Walker Place community unique.

Together, these spaces reflect a growing focus on whole-person wellness—supporting physical, social, and emotional well-being.

A transformation residents watched unfold

Construction began in late 2025 and continued into early 2026, bringing months of activity to the lower level.

During the renovation, much of the area—including the balcony overlooking the atrium—was carefully protected behind plastic sheeting. Even so, many residents couldn't resist sneaking a peek at the progress along the way.

Construction crews, electricians, plumbers, painters, and countless other professionals worked behind the scenes to bring the vision to life.

Vivie extends its gratitude to Jake Bauer and the team at Bauer Design Build for their craftsmanship and partnership throughout the project.

Celebrating a milestone

Residents, team members, families, and guests gathered in April to celebrate the completion of the renovation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Resident Jack Wells was selected through a drawing to do the honors of cutting the ribbon. The event also featured live music, hors d’oeuvres prepared by the culinary team, and an opportunity for guests to explore the newly renovated areas.

Investing in the future

The renovation reflects a commitment to the future of Walker Place, enhancing daily life for current residents while helping the community continue to thrive for years to come.

They give residents beautiful places to stay active and enjoy time together, while also investing in the future of Walker Place and the people who call it home.”
