For Kintae Rolle-Leathen, Vivie isn’t just a workplace—it’s a community that feels like family. As she walks through Nelson Care Center, checking in on residents and ensuring their needs are met, her thoughts go back to the beginning of her Vivie journey.
“It wasn’t just the work that drew me to Vivie, it was the people and the shared vision for making a real difference.”
Kintae joined Vivie in 2024 as a nursing assistant mentor, fulfilling her dream of a career in health care, where she could have a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Before joining Vivie, she worked at another organization, but it didn’t feel like the right fit.
“Growth, development, longevity, trust, and honesty were key factors for me, and I found all of that at Vivie.”
As a nursing assistant mentor, Kintae gets to do what she loves every day. She’s responsible for training and mentoring new team members, ensuring their section runs smoothly, and, most importantly, taking care of the residents. To her, it’s not just about meeting their needs—it’s about bringing joy and dignity to their daily lives and offering a listening ear. With a big smile, she says,
“Every day is different, and that’s what keeps me going. The work is meaningful, and I’m proud of the impact we make on the lives of our residents."
The culture at Vivie is unlike anything Kintae experienced before. “From day one, I felt supported and welcomed,” she says. “I remember being nervous when I started, unsure of what to expect. But that uncertainty quickly faded when I met my managers and team members. The leadership here genuinely cares about my well-being and my growth.” Vivie offers a workplace where she feels valued, heard, and empowered. It’s a place where an open-door policy isn’t just a phrase, it’s lived every day.
One of the most profound impacts Vivie had on Kintae is supporting her education.
“Thanks to the opportunities, I’ve been able to further my learning, which is not only helping me excel in my role but also giving me the tools to create a better future for my family. That kind of investment in my growth is priceless.”
Kintae learns best by doing, and the hands-on experience she’s gained at Vivie has been invaluable. She describes Vivie’s culture of learning as warm, transparent, and supportive. She says, “it’s truly a case of ‘each one, teach one.’” It’s this collaborative environment that inspires her to come to work every day.
Balancing work and home life can be challenging, but to Kintae, Vivie makes it possible. “They understand the importance of family and flexibility, and that makes all the difference. I know if I need time to focus on personal matters, my team will support me without hesitation.” What Kintae loves most about Vivie, though, is the people. From her teammates to the residents she cares for, every interaction is filled with kindness and purpose.
“The relationships I’ve built here are incredibly fulfilling, and remind me daily why I chose this profession.”
Kintae encourages those considering a career at Vivie to take the leap and embrace the challenges, knowing that each day brings something new and rewarding. She says, “Here, you’re not just joining a team—you’re becoming part of a family that truly cares for each other and the people they serve.”
“Vivie has exceeded every expectation I had, and I’m so grateful to call it my home away from home. It’s a job that offers more than stability and growth—it offers meaning, connection, and the chance to truly make a difference.”
